FAQs

What is the first step of my cabinetry project? Will you come to my home to measure?

Unless your project is a new build* (in which case there is no space to be measured) we always make visiting your project to take measurements our first step. Once on site, our designers are qualified to give recommendations of any structural elements that can change within your existing space. If you're building a new home or an addition, we will request plans from you in order to start your initial design. Once your space is framed we will come to measure.

Do I need to make an appointment to visit your showroom?

Our showroom is always open to the public, however, we do recommend making an appointment in advance to ensure one of our designers has ample time to show you around and make the most of your visit. You can call to schedule, or fill out an appointment request form right here on our website!

How much does a design cost?

Our initial design is no charge. This is a way for our designers to demonstrate their expertise and provide a budget for your cabinetry. After the initial design, we do ask for a retainer in order to move forward as well as release your design, including all floor plans, elevations and color renderings.

What is a retainer?

A retainer is the fee paid to Coastal Cabinet Works to release your design to both you and your contractor. We ask for this as a good faith commitment that we will be proceeding to work together and for all of the time and work we put into your project. When you move forward with your cabinetry purchase, the retainer will be deducted from the final sale of your cabinetry.

How do I order samples?

We require a retainer in order to order samples for our clients. Once we have been retained, we are able to order stain chips, paint chips, full doors and custom finish samples of any kind.

How long is the standard lead time for cabinetry?

At Coastal Cabinet Works we carry several different lines of cabinetry.
